People's Fund Guaranteed Income Program Application is Live!

As a proud founding member of the Crossroads Community Fund (CCF), Open Buffalo is overjoyed to announce the *NOW OPEN* application for the People’s Fund guaranteed income program! In this pilot phase, the People’s Fund will be distributing monthly $500 infusions to 30 households in need within our city’s 14208, 14211, and 14212 ZIP Codes. Recipients will be selected randomly after meeting the following basic eligibility criteria:
- Current resident of 14208, 14211, or 14212 ZIP Codes.
- Currently facing a significant life challenge that has made it harder to get by.
- Age 18 or older.
- Only one applicant per household.
The People’s Fund is a mutual aid-style fund directed to support residents in Buffalo’s most historically excluded, intentionally overlooked, and economically distressed ZIP Codes for crisis response and emergency assistance. The funds will be loaded on a prepaid debit card and can be used for basic needs such as housing, food, medical expenses, or other bills that cause hardship.
