Crossroads Coalitionโs mission is to empower frontline communitiesโincluding LGBTQ individuals, indigenous people, communities of color, and youthโto lead the Just Transition.ย By fostering youth empowerment alongside broader community efforts, we strive to create a future where a just transition is realized through a social movement that dismantles the five pillars of the extractive economy while building a regenerative, community-driven economy that prioritizes people and the planet.

Building Power Through Youth and Community Leadership
True transformation requires the leadership of those who will inherit the planet. Thatโs why
youth empowerment is central to our mission. The Crossroads Coalitionโs Youth for Justice
Initiative trains young leaders in climate advocacy, policy engagement, and grassroots
organizingโequipping them to confront inequality and champion sustainable change.
Our Youth for Justice Programs Include:
- Leadership Labs: Workshops where young activists learn to design and lead
community projects addressing environmental and social challenges. - Mentorship Networks: Pairing youth with elders, organizers, and policy experts who
share wisdom and experience. - Civic Engagement Campaigns: Mobilizing young voters and activists to advocate for
climate justice and equitable policies at the local and state levels.
Impact Snapshot: - Over 150 youth leaders trained in environmental justice advocacy since 2021.
- 8 community-led projects implemented focusing on renewable energy and food
sovereignty. - 4 partnerships formed with local schools and nonprofits to expand environmental
education.
